a sky you can’t see:

an exhibition in progress

a sky you can't see (in progress) is an exhibition of an ongoing body of work that emerges from a year of immersive research into hooded garments across time, geography, cultures, and spiritual traditions. In an unfinished display of this work, Nastassja intimately traces the path from formal research to a deeply personal journey unfolding layers of her family history in tandem with an exploration of material identity. Through a selection of notes, sketches, material samples, source references, family photos and in-progress felted portraits, this work questions political, spiritual, and aesthetic dimensions of the hooded form through a lens of Black experiences.

On view July 12 - September 28, 2025 in the Outpost flex space at the The Last Resort Artist Retreat, one of the core programs within Charm City Cultural Cultivation, a non profit organization based in Baltimore, MD.
