In this workshop, we’ll delve into the art of sculptural mask making, creating our very own performance mask with wool. WEEK 4- MAKING A MARK

This workshop will explore street art, its power to reimagine and enrich communities, and graffiti as a subculture with its own codes, rich history, and foundations that are part of a broader culture of free expression. We’ll learn the basics of graffiti and its aesthetics and apply them to our own works, that will help us expand our ideas of how art can transform space, build community, and assert identity.

The Fabrics of Memory prompts students to bring in an old photo or collect one that they feel connected to through a magazine or other print publication, and transform it into a mixed media work of art. Students will thread yarn into symbolic designs onto a canvas, and through guided reflection and hands-on techniques, explore the emotional textures of memory. This exercise is about weaving the past into something new, while celebrating storytelling, connection, and the art of remembering.
