Ode to Black Wombman is a rites of passage – a performance that tells the story of how the fragments of a broken heart finds wholeness in healing. Each audience is taken through an experience of dance, text and song, creating transformation into the Lotus Woman.

Sanchel Brown and Nastassja Swift, two VCUarts alum, are on a journey to share this project with as many artists, participants and viewers as they can. Allowing for a seamless blend of movement, visual art, sound, blackness and womanhood.
